June 16th, 2011

Because it has a multitude of uses, you are better off with stock pots in your kitchen. When planning to purchase a stock pot cookware set there are certain things you have to look into. Choose a stock pot size that is bigger than your biggest soup pot. Remember that the stock pot is for cooking soups and stews in large quantities. There is not much difference in the shapes of different stockpot brands. Some are shorter and wider; others are taller and slimmer. Make sure that is has a thick heavy bottom to prevent burning.

What will make a lot of difference is the material used to make the pot. Copper, aluminium, cast iron, stainless steel and non-stick are all available.
