Preparing a salad used to be a tedious thing to do. There are so many different ingredients to cut, slice or dice. There are condiments like cheeses and hardboiled eggs to shred. Sure, you seldom have to cook things that go into a salad but you have to take care that fruits or vegetables stay crisp and dry. We even use a salad spinner to remove excess water from the leaves.
Things are easier nowadays with a kitchen gadget such as the salad shooter. This machine slices and shreds very efficiently. Shoot one ingredient after another right into your salad bowl. Just put in the dressing and you are good to go. There is less handling that is good for food sanitation. It also makes cleanups easy.
